This program focuses on theory and skills pertaining to Dental Assisting. Instruction and career training consists of 1,080 hours regarding dental care and oral health. The adult Dental Assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and COE (Council on Occupational Education.)
Instruction and training will include classroom lectures and discussion, laboratory demonstrations and practice, as well as clinical assignments in local dental offices. Students will obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to assist and perform laboratory and chair side procedures. A minimum course completion score of 80% is required to progress to next course. Courses begin in August, and pre-entrance testing for the program opens in January prior to the start date.
Licensure may be obtained after successful completion of the program and obtaining passing scores on the exam provided by the Dental Assisting National Board for Certification as a Dental Assistant.
