The Practical Nursing program focuses on concepts and skills necessary to be successfully employed in a variety of medical settings. The program consists of 1,350 hours of rigorous career training and hands-on application of skills. The program is nationally accredited by COE (Council on Occupational Education.)
Program instruction incorporates lecture, technical presentations, laboratory demonstrations and practice, and clinical assignments at local hospitals and healthcare facilities. A minimum course completion score of 80% is required to progress to next course. Courses are scheduled once per year. Pre-entrance testing begins in November of the prior to the August start date of class.
Licensure may be awarded by the State of West Virginia after successfully meeting licensure requirements and obtaining passing scores on the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) for Practical Nursing.
